One other thing of note, the ring of constellations moves as well, with a period of 336 days.

 

Looking at a crafted moondial- any idea what the divisions are on the main rotating ring? The one that the sun is mounted to, and rotates just inside the constellation ring. It appears to have 27 divisions. I always assumed it was 24, given that they rotate with the sun. 28 might work as days of the month, but given that they make a full orbit once a day, that doesn't make sense either.

 

Yeah, I already have that coded.

I assume that all the planets are aligned at the epoch (game year zero). Where do they align astrologically? In other words, what constellation are they in? When I drag a moondial from my inventory in my basement, they're pointing directly between Valor and Justice, but I can't seem to get that to jibe.

 

I suppose. Weird choice, though.

 

I would guess the constellation which corresponds to January. Or, more likely between December and January, since it was January 1st. Which according to the wiki is between Honor and Spirituality.

 

The thing about moondials and basements, is that moondials are tried directly to the sky system which isn't loaded when you're in an interior space such as a basement. They must be outdoors to display accurately.

You would guess correctly. The constellations have a perfect one year orbit so it really doesn't matter which year it is.

 

Yeah, I noted that even their relative movements are wrong.

 

Everything rotates in the same direction, right?

 

Here's what I have so far. The durations are correct but the towns are not. I'm apparently missing something.

 

Currently the Deciet celestial object is in Honesty. That one is correct. I just now am looking at a moondial.

 

Ha! I just got home from Monsterpalooza and discovered that it now looks correct. I had made some changes based on @Cora Cuz'avich's tip right before I left. The only problem that I can see right now is that either Siege Mapper has Corpus and Fastus reversed or I do.

 

Look at a moondial and see who shows the placement as correct.
