Details: Using charged jump doesn't get you any additional height compared to just tapping hit (with charged jump enabled in options)
Steps to Reproduce: Have charged jump enabled in options - compare fully charged jump height vs. just tapping it.

Jump and Charged jump are the same now. Charged jumps are just for looks now. (Unless it was changed again?)

 

Ah! I thought it still affected the height (charging it) this whole time since the non-charged jump was added - or was supposed to?

 

There are now 2 options for jumping... open the Options panel and, on the Controls tab, you can either check the box for "Use Charged Jump" or uncheck it.

If you check it, you will have to hold down space bar to charge it, then release to jump (makes no difference on how long you hold it down).

If you uncheck it, you press space and you jump as soon as you down press (not on the release of space).

When this option was added, both versions were made to jump at the same "max" height. The only difference is whether you jump on the down press or on the release. Neither method will make you jump higher than the other. The only way to jump higher is with an artifact ring with +Jump or by increasing your run speed (yes, going faster will let you jump slightly higher... I think it just makes you travel a further distance in the same amount of time, both horizontally and vertically).

 

Thanks Daxxe - I didn’t know holding space no longer made you jump a little higher with charged jump.
