Clarification Needed Regarding Gifting Founder Pledges

    I know this question may have been answered already but I am having a hard time finding it, so...

    I am a Founder. Am I able to gift a Founder pledge to a new member who has not pledged or even created an account? OR does my friend have to pledge $ first (to become a Benefactor) and then we need to pledge $40 more to upgrade him to Founder?

    Because I have a problem: My friend made a pledge today, but he wants the Founder rewards... So does that mean he has to drop another $40 on the upgrade? :[ Like... is this a case of "too bad so sad?" :(

    As a Founder, you can gift pledges to anyone. But since your friend already pledged, yes, he will need to drop another $40 to upgrade/convert to Founder status. But you could do that for him and get a referral bonus!

    As smack said, you'd have to gift him at minimum a $40 adventurer pledge in order to bring him to founder status, but his his previous contribution will stack. and they can convert him to a higher tier. (Example if he pledged $45 for Benefactor Adventurer, they would be able to upgrade to Royal Artisan (F) at $80 founders price with $5 credit once his pledges have been merged by Portalarium) Your account would also be credited with $25, for a referral.

    I'm very confused, what is a Founder and a Benefactor? Are they 2 different things?

    A friend of mine pledged as a Benefactor, and I got a $25 bonus.

    I then sent him a gift Founder account, and got another $25 bonus.

    I told him I spent $40 on him, and got $50 back, so I'm $10 ahead!

    So, now he says I can buy him lunch. I expect that can be arranged.
