concerned about the low population

Hi! Is normal 10 simultaneous players? should be much more population
this game will be free to play?

 

Well it won't be free to play. You have to purchase the game. It just won't have any additional costs after that.

As for current players, it might just be due to the up coming next release that not many are in. I'm stuck at work currently or I'd probably be in.

You will find it is this way before a wipe of character data, which is scheduled to happen on the 28th of this month I believe. Most people don't bother playing/training during this time, since it will all be erased next week! I'm in game a lot, but don't really do much of anything lately. Things will pick up again after the wipe and patch. Happens every so often.. less nowadays. Don't worry, there are a lot of players!

 

One of the best features of this game is that it allows the population to scale to the number of players supporting it. Meaning that once we have 100 or so people in a single scene, a new instance is created for that scene. This allows the game to feel full even if the overall population level drops. I think just having a few thousand active players will make this game seem very full.

 

Its still in testing, Wipes every 3 months and the next ones due in 8 days so yeah not so many on atm. Final wipe in 3 months though then it will be a different story

The population has been on a decline for a while. The final wipe is at least partially motivated by that. There are many people tired of losing accomplishments from the many wipes.

The reality of the matter will be obvious either way after the land rush. However, there will still be some that are not playing until the official release.

 

How many play after each wipe?

 

I wouldnt expect a drastic climb in population until after the final wipe.

 

Agreed, I'm on a burn out prevention program right now. I once burnt 2000+ hours on a beta and once launch day came I didn't wanna play anymore. Trying to preven that here. I will of course come in a few hours here and there just to scope out the new stuff.

 

I'll probably be back after this wipe (work and life schedule should be getting better). So that's at least 1 more than has been playing this wipe cycle.

 

I don't get the feeling that they're not hitting the numbers - although, a referral program could be fun it would maybe get more people involved in testing and may even inspire new streamers and content creators to talk about things

Looks like the lowest concurrent users (CCU) from Steam alone in the last couple days was 13. Had to have been at least one person on the standalone at that time.

Game averages about 70 concurrent users per day (Steam only) and hasn't really changed over the last year. Owned by about 30k people though, so on official launch you can probably expect a whole bunch of people.
