Okay, I'm starting to understand why a lot of people were mad about the new imbued jewels (and leaved the game), because now that I correctly understand it, I am too.

Don't get me wrong, I do understand the devs wanted to make crafting more useful, but it's not how it should have been done.

For starter it only concerns the crafting and gathering jewels (for meticulous collection for example), not the ones related to weapons.

I thought, since the wiki hasen't been updated on this yet, that the imbued jewels coming from these items would have been more powerfull than the common, uncommon and rare version of the item, but weaker than the legendary and epic versions. Which, honestly, still makes a lot of sense to me.

But no, the jewel is as powerful as an epic! With a 50% chance to get a jewel from an uncommon, and a need for 16 unc (legendary) or 32 (epic) to craft the highier tiers, it is obvious that players gonna try to get the jewels from uncommon, therefore rendering the highier tiers useless.

It still remains challenging to obtain a legendary or epic BMC ring since it would require a lot of lower tier rings, lot of luck and farming (or gold). However it is absolutely not rewarding since you can get a ring as powerful by crafting it.

Some argue that it'll help the game's economy, I strongly disagree :
    - First of all the socketing recipes do not require a very high level in enchanting, so most of the players can do it.
    - Secondly, once you get your two rings and your necklace you won't be needing anything else, it's done, you have the best items you could have with absolutely zero challenge.
    - If at first those jewels and artifacts will cost a lot, it's gonna drastically decrease over time when most of the players will have every crafting rings and necklaces for every gathering/crafting skills. Artifacts will still be looted, but the demand in jewels will decrease, and since there's no more use of those artefacts except for jewels, the prices will fall.

It would have make so much more sense if it was as I expected it : crafted rings having a median value between lower and highier tiers of the related artifact bonus.

I just don't get it, please do fix this.

If they do this they'll enrage the other part of the community which salvaged all their arties for jewels.
How about making it a choice, like arties get stronger but with side effects ala old Brittle Brawn while jewels are only bonuses.

Elgarion mentioned they were working on adding custom masterworks/enchants for the crafting jewels, so you will possibly want multiple copies to get the stats you want on them.

FBohler, Anpu and Elgarion like this.
