This is not as important as functional maps.

But... it should be pretty low-hanging fruit that would change the way people emotionally respond to the game.

Please make the devs' Message of the Day some color OTHER than error-warning red. That's fine for an occassional critical message, like "The server is about to shut down" or "banhammers if you guys keep doing these things." But red is used for alerts and error messages and other danger signs for a reason. It stresses people out in order to get their attention, and it should not be used for everyday, non-critical messages like sales and events or even just "hey, we had this update."

Being greeted by a wall of red text every time we log in is not welcoming or friendly. Even if logically we know that it's just daily messages and can probably be ignored, our subconsciouses are still trained to think red messages are error messages or critical warnings. So throwing red text at us immediately upon login is going to create an immediate negative emotional response in people that we then have to set aside. And SOTA can't afford to create any additional barriers to newcomers feeling positive about the place. You already have purple as a dev color, use it.

And then when there IS a critical message that people really do need to read and it shows up in red, people will actually notice it instead of it getting lost and ignored because there's nothing to make it stick out from the dance party notices.

I've gotten so used to the red that it doesn't register most of the time. I hope I'm not missing anything important

A nice friendly green for daily message and reserve red critical notifications would be good.
