Dara Brae in R20

This thread will explain what the Duchy of Dara Brae is up to this release and to explain the vision of this town.

I an honored that Portalarium selected the Duchy of Dara Brae to help test the Island template from a static lot point of view. The island template is very beautiful and spacious. Portalarium took my sketch notes and the ideas from the thread on island templates and created something wonderful that all can enjoy.

The discovery of Dara Brae and how it became a Duchy

It all started with a silver Celtic ring that was found in Novia which spawned an adventure.

Our Purpose in R20
We are building the town from scratch. That means no houses in R20 for all citizens.

We are collecting wood from the forests to begin constructing and repairing the existing building which is our bank. A friendly Ranger guards all funds, while our Bard Banker will handle all transactions.

A Pavilion will be built just in time for this weekend's Farmers Market on Saturday.

We planted an acorn in a Druid ceremony that will sprout into a small tree over the next two releases. It will take a few releases before the tree is fully grown using water from the waterfall and magic.

Many of our town's citizens are planning their lots and saving up gold.

Our Inn. Stay a while in Novia's first and premier Tent/Trailer Park. Reconstructed from the video footage in R1 (December 2013).

Our Pavilion is up! We did have to sacrifice the two large trees, but replanted two smaller trees in their places after construction was completed.

The memories of those larger trees we will keep in our hearts as their sacrifice became part of the pavilion itself. Blessings for those trees and others for helping construct a place for all to meet and gather.

Our planned uses for the Pavilion include: Farmer's Market, Irish Ceilli parties, meetings between community members, etc.

 

I found your town through sheer dumb luck because I was exploring randomly. It looks really nice and you're close to some neighbouring communities so it looks like you did well overall!
