    Being cheeky, as I am, I walked past the rift and jumped from the island. I landed on the rock below, dead, with no way to find an ankh or leave the ledge.

    Ammendment: with some fancy jumping I managed to get back up to an ankh. But still might be worth putting an invisible wall around the ledge near the rift.
