Distance between tables and chairs

This is the minimum distance the chairs can be to the table in order to move between them and/or sit in them without collision. It's this way for every table/chair combo I've tried. In order to use this store bought set, I have to take up nearly double the space that should be required.

Steps to Reproduceut a chair at a seemingly reasonable distance from a table. Fail to sit down or move inbetween the chair and table.
