Double Crafting XP

I guess I'm doing something wrong then, as the only way I gain Crafting XP is by gathering nodes. I lose Crafting XP when crafting items whether I succeed or fail during the crafting attempt.

 

To be honest, the people who will benefit the most from this are the ones who decide to drop a load of RL cash buying raw materials. Gathering is really the only effective, consistent way to get producer XP (lets not call it CRAFTING xp because clearly it ISNT ....RIGHT?). What a farce. What was going to be a fun couple weeks of going through zones harvesting all the things is now going to be staring at a refining timer for as many hours as I can stand it before falling asleep, while cleaning out my massive stockpiles of crap. I guess it all needed to be done anyway, but not really how I envisioned this going. I feel like Portalarium is making me clean my room ><

Dear Darkstarr, I urge you to reconsider.
The Skills panel (brought up by pressing K) is divided into 2 clear parts, Adventuring and Crafting.

Under Crafting is placed all gathering, refining and production skills. That is why many of us assumed that Double Crafting XP meant double XP applied to gathering skills as well, like mining, foraging and skinning.

 

We have 2 experience pools: Adventuring and Crafting. Crafting is seperated in Gathering, Refining and Production.

• ACHIEVED! $90K: Double XP for 1st 2 Weeks of R54 (including Crafting) & Red Electric Sword

Now its only double xp for Production ?
feels like a joke to me

so i gues refining wont get any double xp as well

 

Well lets be really pedantic. Enchanting and masterworking technically isnt producing or creating anything, so are those excluded too?
I'm assuming farming's out as well.
What about fishing?
Cooking? Cooking is not the same as "crafting" after all...
And while we're talking about fine print, who wants to wager on unnanounced sell-to-npc price nerfs for crafted goods?

LOL, well a lot of people thought it also included gathering XP. Now that there is clarification, people are rather upset.
Yeah a lot of us were planning which area would be best to get the most XP from gathering certain resources. Than using those resources to make things. Guess that was a waste of our time. lol

Oh well...looks like I will have to gather and put those items up for sale to make gold rather then XP from gathering.

 

BOOOOOOOO, it's crazy to say but I was actually looking forward to mining. Well all my time spent will be getting adv exp I suppose.

 

Is refining included in double exp?

 

If this is how it goes down, i'm with you Dragur. I was looking forward to hitting the mines again, but if there's only a bonus for actual crafting, i'll stick to banking adventurer XP pool.

Are quest rewards doubled for producer xp even though its not crafting?

 

they were last time even when there wasn't double crafting, so that shouldn't change

 

still waiting for Darkstarr to come back and tell us that adventurer's xp are only for magic users...

 

Can you please do an elasticsearch query to see what percentage of producer XP is awarded for gathering/refining/producing?

I think you'll find doubling production awards solely will only result in a net ~1.05x XP rate, not the double you were hoping for.

If you want to depart from your deal as understood by the majority of its funders and have this be production-only, i would suggest 10x+

 

It was never even explained until Darkstarr did in this thread like an hour ago? Jesus. I had no idea. I thought I just didn't pay attention to the right thread or something. I have to agree that this is pretty bad if no one mentioned this at all until just today. I hope they reconsider and make it apply to gathering as well. I have to admit, I assumed that it would make 1000 XP per node mined/animal skinned in the Tier 5 areas. sad...

 

then you have set the corresponding Crafting skill to learn...

 

Double exp is only for Tamers

 

OH and the Double Adventure experience only can be gained in PVP zones.
