Downloading ~700kb.

It was at 60kb for awhile, maybe a few minutes. Now it's been consistently 700kb for around an hour (I think it's been an hour).

I didn't get these speeds when updating other releases or updating the QA. I've tested my speed elsewhere and getting 4-5MB per second.

In fact the QA is STILL offering downloads a 4-5MB per second (just updated), guess they're separate resources.

 

Yep, I averaged about 100 kb/s when using the SOTA Launcher for patching. It took all day to download V311 (gladly I have another machine that updates via Steam, so I didn't really care).

They were having similar issues last release as well though, probably bandwidth issues on their end, due to everyone pulling down the patches at the same time.

Thanks for posting that. I was actually performing the download over again so I could get a screenshot of that screen.

Yes, I encountered the exact same error when updating, and it corrupted my installation when it did so.

(Now I can stop this idiotic download, and simply copy the Steam download over to that machine)

 

Yes, and then it restarts from ground Zero because you lose everything in a failed patch or crashing during patching. Oddly enough, starting from 0->311 is getting me 3.5MB now, and it's uploading a little which it wasn't doing before. I wonder if the previous attempt wasn't using P2P for some reason and that makes the difference?

What a pain this time around.

 

When it's downloading slow I stop it and start it again. Goes back to where you left off and every release this has worked for me in getting way better download speeds.
