Duke Island Castle

The Islands of Wonders, pot, will have a Duchess living there among many other people. I dont see a problem with people not coming to visit us.. We will have many more enticing things to draw you there.

 

They have stated different fencing types (sorry I don't have the source) - but one can choose the large walls fortress type fence as one of the available types. If you want a view then I imagine you would choose a different fence type.

 

I could not disagree more. I happen to love that keep sized deed has fortified walls. If you happen to like PVP defending a keep is hella fun when u can bow people from the keep walls and or shoot from the roof. Some of our best fights was in and or around the castle walls in pvp island.

 

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping to see. Or the option to remove it completely, perhaps...

You can still defend even if the walls are lower down. It's actually a more defensive posture. The duke island already has a natural barrier (the ocean), and with the walls being lower down, you have an advantage being uphill and can rain arrows or other fiery objects down on anyone trying to breach the walls lower downhill. So yeah, I see what you mean about the battles as that's a necessary experience but I don't think moving it further down will get rid of it. It will be similar, but sure, not exactly the same.

 

I just hope all this talk of battles isn't theoretical and we actually get to have some sweet prolonged sieges and large-scale battles.

Now that you mention it, the Duke keep would have been even cooler if it had been designed to be integrated into one of its encircling walls. This would have made for more courtyard inside the walls. The same applies to the lord of the manor castles. I could see why they cannot do this though. It might create oddities in house placement on some lots or restrict the ability to swap to different walls in the future. Still, a cool idea.

I have been hoping for something similar. I intend to upgrade to Duke and would like to have the ability to place the village lot next to the keep lot and encircle both of them with the walls. I was hoping the knight marshal house could be integrated with the keep wall. Not only that, i'm thinking to upgrade my wife(or my second account) to Lord Marshal and it also has a village lot and tower house. It would be cool if we could integrate them all somehow. I also would not mind to have ivy growing on the walls.
