Dwarves?

maby not reconsider but adjust, when i come thru the gate or whatever i can choose what i want to be, just a small adjustment. Like i said if i have to be human ill just head off to Northguard.

 

I have mixed feelings on this one.

On one hand, I can see how it adds to immersion if non-human characters are only NPCs. It lends the game a particular point of view for the player to explore.

On the other hand, I wonder if the game world is truly 'alive' if non-human characters are only controlled by the PC or server. Why do long-time ultima players have such a fond memory of wearing orc masks and role playing orcs at the orc fort if this is not an important aspect of the game?
