Interacted with my Edelmann Automaton today and it no longer plays its catchy little tune.
note: build 999
Hm, it appears to work for the lot owner (they hear the music). I need to go back and test and see if I can hear it now or not as well (as of patch 1k).
Ok, confirmed. The lot owner can hear it play, but if someone else is on the lot and makes it play, they cannot hear it (Even as a co-owner, such as myself).
@Mishikal I tried this in 1007, if you go to my town in the big twin towers house theres an Edlemann automation, I took a toon, not the owner of the house, and Im happily listening to the music.. Maybe this is fixed?
Nope, still doesn't work for me. If you go to Brittany Fields, take the stone path to the left (as if you were going to the town crier), and then take the dirt path that goes up the hill to the keep there (Owned by Avvy), turn right when you go in through the arch, turn right, the second large greenhouse has an edelmann automaton in it. I cannot hear the music when I activate it. However if Avvy activates it, the music plays on her system.
Bad news.. it works fine for me I can confirm that it is on the SFX slider, so if you have that turned down a lot it maybe in audible
@liz_the_wiz fascinating... Doesn't work for me at all (and I have all the audio sliders fully turned up). I wonder why it just affects me.
@Mishikal its not a very loud noise, I wonder if your general volume is turned down? or it has to be down to something about your character, eg, something worn, held, etc
Doesn't matter how high up my volume is
OK, just wondered cos i mentioned how much I hated my player grunts and someone else went ive never heard mine.. turned out they had the volume down but not off and so had never heard them
And now it doesn't work for my wife... :/
Are you getting any errors in the log file to go with? or in /debug ? I went back to see, nope still working for me..
Huh. I've tried the Edelmann automaton at the Purple Dragon Inn in Soltown and in one of the shops in Ardoris -- I think it was the carpenter. The animation always worked fine, but I never guessed there was supposed to be a sound to go with it! I might have had my music turned down at the time, but I always have my SFX turned all the way up.
Yeah it plays a pretty little tune (I think it's a German folk tune?)
It may have other origins but its Where Do I Begin (Love Theme from "Love Story")
Interesting! Good to know, but kind of ruins the Germanness Edelmann.
