Any chance we can get this reduced a bit, so it doesn't make visibility so difficult while active?
(This isn't specific to R41 - it's been annoying me since I learned the spell 2-3 releases ago)

You should have seen it 3 or 4 months ago! It was awful. It looked like the gods were urinating all over the place. It is still not quite the way I'd do it, but it is better than it was.

Also if you sneak while casting it, you get the illumination, but the effects disappear.

I raised Healing grace just to get rid of soothing rain because of it's visual graph. IT's not worth using in a combat situation IMO.
You use it to save your life but you end up beeing dead because you didnt see the mob coming :D

Problem with healing grace is it's a single target, while rain is an aoe effect.
But the rain makes it very hard if not impossible at times to tell if players are in your line of sight because you can't see anything. Of course, they end up not in your line of sight and you give a nice big heal to that guy with full hp.

I'd love an option to just disable this and many of the other horrible graphics.

AFAIK, healing spells are not supposed to work on your pet. Only Heal Creature from the taming tree.

True. You must always use your pet healing abilities in your taming tree.

Healing rain works on my pet. Always has. Being a phoenix no less. All my heals work on my phoenix.

Summoned creatures are treated differently than tamed creatures.

Interesting. I'll have to test that. But as getting parties is difficult this may take a while to find someone with a pet.
I was pretty sure I could heal pets as well.
