This is by design. Leather outfit materials (which are predominantly used by the hat and the boots) do not accept dyes.

Someone (I know it's not you) should update the store page then, because what it says there is: "This is Cloth Light Armor." If it's not cloth light armour in some respects then that should be noted.

@Attenwood That, and it's got dye slots, making it so the curious will waste a dye on something that doesn't work.

So even if it's by design, players who haven't seen this will see it as a bug.

So it seems like it is in fact cloth armour. I would agree that this is a bug. Either it should not be dyeable and not have the slots or it should by dyeable and have the slots.

This is a tech issue as we have no way atm to distinguish between allowing the primary slot to be dyeable or the secondary slot undyeable. By allowing for the feather to be dyed, it consequently also allowed for the secondary, unused, slot to allow for a dye that wouldn't be visible. Atm, players have the Paper Doll in the character menu to actively show that nothing will be applied. That is their warning. We personally prefer being able to dye a feature rather than no feature at all.

A tech bug has been created to explore possibilities to make this better. Thank you for reporting. 43013
