Craft a practice dummy. Place it on your lot or in your basement. Get another player to attack it to try and raise skills. They can not attack and raise skills unless the owner of the lot or basement is actually present on the lot or within the basement. Once the owner of the lot or basement leaves the other player attacking the dummy immediately stops consuming XP and raising up skills. Even if you raise their permission to co-owner this same issue happens.

So, is this bugged or by design? You would think that anyone should be able to train on a practice dummy especially someone who is a co-owner of the lot.

I believe this is by design, @One Zero. Those practice dummies count as NPCs on a lot, like a vendor or a pet, so it would make sense that the owner must be present for interaction on the lot. I will submit it for review, just in case :D

OK Thanks @margaritte - Perhaps then the practice dummies should be given the "permissions" option like vendors have. That way kindred or co-owners can attack the dummy while the lot owner is not there. This could also be extended to guild chapter houses so that any guild mate can attack a practice dummy within a guild house without the lot owner there.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately the practice dummy uses the exact system that other deco pets use, which disables them if the owner is not present.

It's possible we might try to look for ways for any player to continue to make use of a deco practice dummies when the owner isn't present.

If the practice dummy continues to be a deco pet then this could be a problem when the "Renting" system is in place. Take for example you own a lot but you have it rented out to another player. They are paying you gold to live there and have either kindred or co-owner status. You don't live there. They do. They decorate it and place a practice dummy. Your tenant is going to be upset that they can't use their practice dummy without the landlord present.

(Nice to run into you in the game last night - thanks for the duel)

These are all concerns that we will look into as we get closer to implementing such a system. :)

    Nice dueling with you. ;)
