Fan Site? ? (Dev) Replied

I'm all in for the game! Now do we need a fan site? I personally would love to build a fan site for the game but would need lots of help. It would not be a one man show. We'd need a server administrator for software installs, forums, news etc. Graphics design and then lots of creative people to help with content and moderating.

If anyone is interested please reply and we can look at putting a project together for this.

Hey, I would love to participate in such a project but my design skills aren't so great, but I would love to help since I've been "working" on fansites before (forum moderator and helped with content such as small competitions etc.)

Also if you are THE Markee Dragon I gotta tell you that I love your youtube videos and enjoy them much (not the warz ones though)

 

Yeah if you are THE Markee I would be happy to help you in anyway. I have been in the UO community since 1997, have fallowed you, and made a few transactions through your site in the past.

 

I would be excited to help on the community side of things. Have the experience.

Oh, and I do have a translation module, yes. Once you're set up and I've walked you through the little changes made to the Wordpress backend by the theme I'm using, you can totally start translating content as well. That would be awesome.

 

100% familiar. I work with it commercially as a dev and, for fun, as a blogger

Man... trust me: there is no translation like human-made translation!

In 5 out 10 times you just can't understand what has been translated... at least to portuguese.

 

Can say the same thing about translation to swedish, hard to understand sometimes

 

That's kind of what I meant. The translation module installed is WPML (http://wpml.org/); not automated at all, but pretty slick to integrate.

At present, it's inactive, but I'll push it live.

I hope it shed a bit more light on the single player/multiplayer distinctions in the game. At its core, Shroud is an offline RPG, and the multiplayer is totally asynchronous...and opt-in, besides.

At the same time, if you want to, it won't stop you from playing it online all the time. Sort of a "best of both worlds" thing.

The PvP sounds interesting, too.
