So now that chickens drop feathers - I'm looking for a good location to collect them. Jaana's Ford has the largest number of chickens that i know of, but the respawn rate seems quite bad. Is there anywhere with above the normal 4 chickens and a fast respawn rate?

I saw a couple of good sized groups of chickens wandering around Etceter earlier.

I can't check at the moment, but I thought there was just a group over by the public vendor. Can you tell me where you think you saw the other group?

You know, it might just be the one big group. I went and looked, and those chickens move, lol! I saw them wander all over the place from the house down on the water near the oracle to the weapons vendor and then all the way to the public vendor. I killed the ones I saw, and ended up with 9 carcases and 22 bundles of feathers, but they were respawning very quickly, so by the time I killed the group, some were already back. That's where I will gather feathers this release, for sure :D

Sounds pretty good - I'll test it when I am home today.

Yeah, feathers as a drop came up as a forum thread(.4 gold per arrow in feathers is expensive) and the the devs seem to have been watching so it was added in r24.

2-3 feathers per impossible bird to find in sufficient quantities.

Why must it be painful to harvest feathers?

    1000 feathers per 10000 arrows.

    333 to 500 chickens harvested?

    Not fun!

You are not factoring in meticulous collection and you are still able to buy mass feathers off of npcs.

Oh and it is 2-4 per bird.

I didnt get 4 yet. Good to know. You are correct. Meticulous collection has not gone off.

Ill add that to the laundry list of things to do!

It does give at least four with Meticulous :D

In the meanwhile, I am happy that it is now on CHICKENs! that we can harvest and that our devs listen to the plight of poor archers everywhere. I don't mind that it if it is less considering how it was on the previous release as it's still better than buying 10 bundles or plucking a burning birdo_O

    #OurDevsLISTENtous! :D

Okay, Checked Etceter. There are 6 chickens that spawn moderately often (not constant but not terrible). They all spawn in front of the public vendor (Crim) though they do wander if given the chance.

I did want to do a small correction from earlier. I saw this a couple of days ago but didn't screenshot. You actually can get 5 bundles in a single pile off of a chicken
