I have an idea for object snapping. It will apply to certain objects, perhaps starting with walls and planting beds. Objects that have snapping capability will have a predetermined set of vertices for snapping, defined in the object. Suggesting the bottom corner vertices to start for flexibility of object types.

The right-click menu on such an object would show an option to "Set Snap Point" or similar. Move the mouse pointer close to the desired point, then left-click to set. Something like the light spell effect would be centered on that vertex to highlight it. Right-click "Clear Snap Point" or ESC keypress will clear the snap point.

Concerning the snap capable object to be moved, selecting it will select the vertex closest to the mouse pointer as the grab point. It could be set up more deliberately with a right-click "Set Grab Point" menu option. Again, highlight the vertex via some effect. The object grabbed will snap to the snap point when moved to within a meter or so. If the mouse button is released before then, then the object is placed wherever and the grab point is cleared.

Collisions will prevent any snap to, so pre-rotate your objects. If having the grabbed object inherit the orientation of the anchor object is not an issue, then include that as part of the snap. Otherwise, objects that have non-zero pitch and/or rolls cannot have snap points, i.e right-click menu item does not appear.
