    Fishing stats TLDR:

    Common: 1472
    Uncommon: 245
    Large Uncommon: 14
    Rare: 6
    Small Rare: 3
    Large Rare: 1

So at fishing level 105 (with blessing +5; so technically 110) I have managed to catch a lot of fish in the past. I have been fishing mostly in POTs lately so most of my catches are from Fresh water. Also I have started to track Minnows I get back only recently. That is why there is so few of them in the chest. Still I think the number of rare/uncommon/common fish may be useful to some people.

I have not tracked the gear I get from fishing because I get way too much of junk and it does not stack.

I was using Minnows as bait and Prosperity Fishing Rod.

    Bait:
    Minnow (29++)*
    Pale Leech (4)
    Drudge Leech (2)
    Herring (7)
    Sardine (5)

    Common: 1472
    Bass (292)
    Carp (5)
    Catfish (223)
    Cod (228)
    Mackerel (38)
    Salmon (232)
    Sunfish (192)
    Tilapia (6)
    Trout (256)

    Uncommon: 245
    Black Trout × 34
    Bluefin Tuna × 1
    Brook Trout × 47
    Mahi-Mahi × 14
    Oscar Sunfish × 43
    Pacu × 29
    Peacock Bass × 31
    Sharptooth Catfish × 15
    Spotted Bass × 31

    Large Uncommon: 14
    Large Brook Trout × 2
    Large Oscar Sunfish × 4
    Large Mahi-Mahi × 1
    Large Pacu × 3
    Large Peacock Bass × 1
    Large Spotted Bass × 3

    Rare: 6
    King Salmon × 3
    Marlin × 2
    Swordfish × 1

    Small Rare: 3
    Small King Salmon × 3

    Large Rare: 1
    Large King Salmon × 1

    * The number of minnows is so low because I have figured out a way to measure how many I got back only for the last few days of my fishing

Next time I will fill separate Fetid/Salt/Fresh chests and see how the numbers differ when my fishing is 120 (115 skill + 5 Blessing)

    Neat stats - thanks!

I think "Large Mahi-Mahi" should be under the "Large Uncommon" category, not "Large Rare".

And "Bluefin Tuna" is Uncommon, I think.

    From the R59 release notes:
    • Common Fish: Bass, Salmon, Trout, Catfish, Cod, Sunfish, Carp, Tilapia, Mackerel.
    • Uncommon Fish: Black Trout, Brook Trout, Oscar Sunfish, Peacock Bass, Spotted Bass, Sharptooth Catfish, Mahi-Mahi Tuna, Amberjack Mackerel, Bluefin Tuna.
    • Rare Fish: King Salmon, Goliath Catfish, Pike, Gar, Sturgeon, Tarpon, Marlin, Sailfish, Swordfish, Tiger Shark.

@Kron Caledon You are right, thank you, I have corrected my mistake.

Though Bluefin Tuna definitely feels like rare with my limited stats.

    @Net

Agreed - I have so few Bluefin Tuna, compared to other "Uncommon" like Mahi Mahi, Amberjack Mackerel, etc.

@Net Very interesting! I learned from your list that as a fishing newbie I caught an “uncommon” fish (Paku) on my first fishing outing since the new fish were added to the game. When I butchered it, it was called some kind of salmon on the crafting table, which was confusing.

If there a comprehensive guide or post somewhere where all fishing related information (bait, location, fish types, etc.) is in one place could someone post it here? Thanks!

Could what you catch be determined by the bait, or time of day or locations you normally fish. Maybe Bluefin is more rarely found with your usual fishing methods?

I highly doubt that. Have not fish that much in the sea water, but I got quite a few Mahi-mahis and Mackerels, and even some rares.

As for the baits and time of day I have not noticed any significant difference but since some fish are rare I am not saying there is not any, but if there is it is rather small.

Agreed, except for the sharptooth catfish. I've gotten only one of those, and one bluefin as well, but 4 Amberjacks, and at least 6 mahi-mahi.

Sharptooth catfish is Fetid water fish though. So if you are fishing in Mud or similar swamp coastal town, only the river there is fetid water the seaside is sea water.

Ah! I was wondering how you'd caught so many. I don't do much mysterious swamp fishing, so yeah that would explain it. thanks. And thank you for compiling so much data. Cheers!
