Is it just me, or does it seem like with R54 and I guess the newest version of Unity that looking around in SotA now gives a sort of fish eye lens view effect distorting the edges of the screen and making the center look much further away than it used to?

I notice it most when I am moving the camera view from side to side. It's a bit disconcerting for the time being, but I'm sure I will probably get used to it, just wanted to see if anyone else is getting this effect

There's a new POV slider check the options and set it all the way down.

yeah, seeing the clouds in the skybox swing around behind the clouds at the edge of the scene is no bueno.

The new FOV feature is cool but still the scaling on 5760x1080 looks very stretched. I had hoped that it would get better .

I started with it way over to the right, as it was a new shiny thing, and as you can see more of what's going on around you which is useful, especially when watching out for potential roaming adds in combat, but I've gradually moved it back left due to the distortion. At the moment I have it roughly central, for me it's a decent compromise.

I have it all the way to the left. Otherwise FOV and resolution of objects seems wrong to me.

The FOV Slider is mostly for people like me that suffer from Motion sickness if the FOV is too narrow. With the FOV slider I was able to increase it alleviating severe motion sickness. If you want your game to look exactly how it did before release 54 just leave it all the way to the left. Thank you portalarium for adding this.

I play at 2560x1440 and about a quarter of the way from the left is perfect.

All the way to the left is the same perspective as R53. The reason things seem stretched is that in order to keep lines straight as you get closer to the corners, the objects must be stretched. The wider your view, the stronger this effect will be. There's no way around it unless you want a fish-eye view.

If the stretching into the corners really disturbs you then don't play on a double-wide monitor.

    It's actually a rectilinear view, not a fish-eye view.

Actually I am playing on a triple screen setup. The stretching makes me feel that SotA is not supporting such resolutions very well yet. So I hoped the new FOV feature would improve this. Anyway the stretching on the edges feels too much and objects appear closer than they are actually.
