This is my current list of things that trigger the bug:

    Nameplates
    Speech
The "Bodice" torso armour (Epic Leather does not)
The "Iolo's Lute" instrument (The Flute does not)
Raven pet (Haven't tried any other pets)

It often affects other avatars even with nameplates off, but it may be because they have an item of equipment or pet that triggers the bug. I'd guess that the lace on the bodice, feathers on the raven, and strings on the lute are all using transparent textures in a way that is causing the bug. Speech and nameplates obviously also use transparency.

When area nameplates are crossing the edge of the viewport, I get brief flashes of black but it's merely annoying rather than seriously impinging on gameplay like the above.

I'm definitely still experiencing it with the current build (441), right this moment, as I type this.

Here are two examples - a daytime shot from earlier today, and nighttime from just a few moments ago: https://imgur.com/a/aIeZi

Another thing to test/check: disable chat bubbles (the settings is in the gear icon of the chatbox).

I am getting flashing black squares everywhere, along with flashing lights and objects flashing neon red, yellow and green. All my other games and applications on this computer seem to be functioning normally.
    Area: Soltown (Novia_R1_City_Soltown) Loc: (-15.2, 28.0, 23.7)
    Area: Row Stone & Timber 5-Story Basement (BasementSceneMedievalRow_5Floor) Loc: (34.7, 3.3, 109.8)
    Area: Brittany (Novia_R3_City_Brittany) Loc: (456.5, 37.5, 208.3)
    100%
    Windows 7
    Ram 16
    64 bit OS
Video Card AMD Radeon HD 7500 Series

Rebooting my computer fixed the problem.

UPDATE: On my previous report I did not notice that I was using a windows driver for the video. That was not suppose to be. I checked my NVidia driver out AND it was not working AT ALL! Plus JAVA was wacked for some reason as well. I reinstalled java and downloaded the NVIDIA drivers and all works and there are no huge black squares on the overland map screen now and not hideous lag.

    Check out your drivers guys.

Is this still occurring? I believe this box is a dummy object I have in the scene to force a render. It's supposed to be invisible. I made a change to the shader it's using in hopes that is would resolve this. We are not seeing on our test machines.

It's been fixed on linux, but this has become a mixed thread and was initially about mac, so I don't know.
