I will be taking the taming mastery as my #1 one. I like the results so far on the QA server. I will once again have a pet adventuring with me now that this change is here.

I am having a hard time figuring the other one will I choose.

What did you choose as your other mastery to go with the taming mastery and why?

I hope to have a few answers here for all to see and learn from once QA comes to a close. SO keep testing like I am. :)

I can not work another and will not but I it also depends on what your other skills are -

If you are ranged then it is easy Ranged for whatever bonus it give

Add Magery as a choice and I would use what ever compliments you style Death, Healer, Water . . . .

But in the end as a true Ranger - Sorry but the taming specialization is an insult, but if you are going to bite on it Ranged or Healing will fit a true ranger.

If you are going to game the system it will take over 2 - 3 releases until the even come close to flushing out the kinks then you could pick a complimentary skill set.

I like water for its healing boosts or healing outright.

Earth and Moon were both super fun with taming but I'm going with healing, if you don't mind killing slowly the pet can kill stuff for you as long as you keep him/her healed. Oh and keep yourself healed while the pet kills stuff one at a time. Pets don't multi task well lol.

On a side note Earth spells don't take a lot of focus and pets suck your focus dry, so that's a plus for Earth.

Its more of a long standing issue.

Plate wearer 630 focus red F fero-322 focus

Leaves very little to play with (308)..

Mage 1300 focus -322 leaves almost 1000 focus to play with.

@Chris Can we at least get higher level tamable pets in the game? At 126 summoning and 113 combat training, our pets can't get any stronger. Everyone can have a long term goal 130 in swords and you will get a little stronger, 150 in any school and you will get a little stronger...not tamers, not without higher level pets. As for taming mastery, one point to go from 116 to 117 was around 8 million exp and my pet got 3 hp. That's "3" not 30 not 300 not even 13...just 3 hp for 8 million exp.

Also concentration 100-120 is only 4% focus improvement. Its another one that needs to be looked at.

Looking forward to the Taming tree improvements once they go live. Moon tree will most probably be my second specialization. Hoping that pets will get some form of stealth mechanism since currently going into stealth mode leaves your pet out in the open.

I'd even settle for just a few pets being stealth capable - wolves come to mind.

There are no improvements to the taming tree, only taming mastery giving us a stronger pet.
