One thing Ive missed seeing in this game are earned titles.. Im not talking kill 100 bears get a title for killing bears or something but more for things like

getting 100(GM) in ranged combat "Master bower"
getting 100(GM) in say 5 ranged combat skills "Grand master bower"

    for crafting things like

getting all the harvesting to 100, master harvester/gatherer
and for people like Lace who have put in so much work in GM'ing all the craft skills something like "Crazy Grandmistress/master of craftiness"

it would be good to see some of the earned skills reflected in titles, not just little arrows by a name

that would probably cause a marked increase in butchery interest.

This is soo old. Why copy UO? Do 1000 Backflips in a row while singing Gangnam Style and earn title GM Flipper.

I quite specifically didnt list things like that, after all I specifically said not for things like killing 1000 bears etc, I meant for GMing skills.. but hey, thanks for kiling some enthusiasm.

I love this idea! Give me names above my head. It also would give an at a glance recognition of your skills without having to click on a player, like a reputation.Thumbs up for me!

    Titles are just dumb posing.

You call it "dump posing" other call it advertising or roleplaying... As a crafter and merchant I'd love to sport a "Grandmaster Tailer" (for example) as a title. Earning nice titles from questlines is also nothing new, but still a nice touch. If you don't want to carry any title... well, noone forces you to show them.

Others may call it what they like, in the end it's still just posing.

And? If something as simple like this is making players more happy, so let them.

I currently don't use any pledge titles as I kind of see it that way for them (but wouldn't deny anyone the pleasure of them and can see the roleplay aspect). But titles earned in game that potentially have an impact on other players through partying or crafting seem more purposeful than just posing.

Maybe I don't understand what the term "posing" means. But how is calling yourself a Grand Master Tailor (assuming you actually are one of course) posing?

Im in favor of the idea. Titles, emotes and/or visual effects for achievments like reaching 120 in a skill etc.

Things that encourage specialization are needed too (which is on the way for crafting) without demeaning diversity in skills

"Posing" = Bragging/showing off....what else. Use a translator for your needs

Have you ever been in business for yourself? I think promoting your crafting specialization has very little to do with bragging and more to do with advertising as was previously stated. But to you, there is no line, all titles are posing? Like, CEO, Guild Leader, Master Bladesmith, etc? Or can you give a little on your narrow view of titles and accept that they are more than simply posing in this case?

You really want to know? ALL titles are for bragging purposes, for nothing else have titles been ever thought for.

While I love titles (you should see how my phone misspelled that word!), and they're great fot RP, they are basically just peacocking.

I think from an RP standpoint they are great, for a self goal point of view, it can be fun (after all you can aim to earn them, even if you then choose never to use it), but also, if you dont RP and you just want a fancy title other than Outlander its a way to get one
