    No fails.

    You can't fail at chopping down a tree unless it falls on you or you quit give up. The latter is more likely, cutting down trees is a lot of work!

    So if it's a crit failure.... you just... give up.

    In game visuals terms that means you suck wind for a second, too tired to continue (not long or we'll freak out! VERY short animation.)

    Then, if you start again, instead of "Harvesting Pine Tree" it says phrases like "Pushing on", "Giving it another go", and "I won't give up!"

    I think it would be appreciated by players the first couple of times they experienced it, but it would soon get old. For that reason, although I like the idea, I wouldn't assign to it a high priority.

    I don't know if you all recall the not too occasional complaints about failing at gathering? It happens off and on.

    This counters that. Yeah, it's strange to fail at chopping a tree unless it is framed as getting tired.

    I'd prefer it was based on axe swings, if that were possible. Get a crit, and it falls on the first swing. Otherwise, it's random between two swings and say, seven or eight swings. The gathering speed skill increases your odds, so it's more likely to fall on fewer swings. Meticulous are always one swing each. And something similar with each gathering type- swings of a pick, strokes with a sickle/skinning knife, etc.
