Getting sucked into an encounter...

    ...is still not fun. If the NPCs were subject to the same speed restrictions as avatars then it probably wouldn't be such an issue.

    Still can't outrun a skeleton or a wolf in the woods. ;)

    Unless the skeleton rises out of the ground at me, I tend to easily avoid such encounters. Even passing through the woods. Are you not giving wide enough berth? Not letting them patrol away from choke points?

    Same problem here, and really annoying having to sit through two load screens while people are waiting on you. Really needs a dialogue box to ask if you want to go in. I can outrun them on the road, but guess what, they're all stood in the middle of the road. Try to go around, you move super-slow and their radius is immense.

    I've taken to keeping a few potions of wolf speed in my pack.
    One lasts for 10 mins, which makes for a nice quick run on the overworld.
    You just have to remember to drink one before getting to the overworld. ;)
