I actually think we are pretty much in agreement. Just slight differences in words, plus I am trying to come up with a way to bridge actual game mechanic with the good vision you propose. If someone can add an @craftingdev to the actual dev then I will feel more inclined to pursue in my limited time, because I think the mechanics built would stay the same, but only the UI would be modified. I mean really... low-hanging fruit, right? @Bzus - ok, hopefully this isthe right dev.

This is probably a dumb idea, but there could be in-game book(s) that have recipes written in them from the players. There could be a bookshelf near the crafting area where these books can be found. The point here is to provide the same service as the wiki does without leaving the game.
