This is a very annoying issue for me.

Recently, I got a 4K monitor. Nice and stuff, but totally unsuitable for Shroud of the Avatar, with my puny (!) GTX770/2GB. The huge 3840x2160 resolution is just too much for an unoptimized, GPU-heavy game. So I can play only in fullhd (1920x1080), unless I fancy a 4-10FPS slideshow.

The problem is that EVERY time I start the game, or hit the Esc key, or access - for any reason - the Options window, no matter the actual resolution, the game resets itself to the desktop resolution - i.e. 4K.

And it slows down to a crawl.

It's making me hate the game: it's the only piece of fullscreen software that does NOT obey to my orders, and keep thinking it knows better than me.

Every single time I start the game, I have to:

    - Uncheck "fullscreen"
    - Unmagnify the window
    - Set the resolution to 1/4 (fullhd - 1920x1080)
    - Re-check "fullscreen"
    - Let the monitor upscale the fullscreen signal
    - Play

And I have to repeat these steps every time I open the Options window - accidentally or not.

Please, please, please, force the Options to keep MY settings, and not be "creative" with their own ones.

I guess this is the same issue that makes SotA start on secondary monitors, or across multi-monitor setups, or split between a monitor and a VR headset (like my Rift).

So it starts the same even if you 'chattr +i' the prefs file (which is somewhere in 'find ~/.config/unity3d/Portalarium -name prefs') after setting it to your liking? Just curious..

I'll try, but it doesn't affect/be affected by the config file.

It's more the in-memory running config, than the on-disk prefs file.

As soon as I open the options window - for any reason, even by mistake - BAM! it instanly changes the game resolution to match the desktop resolution. It's sooooooo annoying!
