It's now ridiculous to fight them.
I just went to The Rise and had a 3 Minute battle with a mage there. Everytime he is close to death he is teleporting somewhere... lol... i run towards him,. he is healing and teleporting around the next corner.
I think the idea to give them more abilities is ok, but in that way... ist to mucho :)

Sounds like in a way you almost HAVE to now have your gap closer skill as a locked skill with the new heat system against these things.

Mages are complete BS lol. They teleport so far away that it's like they instantly reset themselves and start out of combat healing immediately. Heaven help you if they teleport into a bunch of their friends. There needs to be something I can do to prevent this behavior to balance this nightmare hahaha.

I'm guessing that the change was to make it more difficult for the very few avatars who would simply run into that room and own it.
Bad plan, imo - because it hurts the 98% WAY more than it will hurt the 2%.

Now, as it currently stands, who the hell is even going to go there any longer ?

Nah, not a bad plan. A bad plan is expecting to be able to own an end game mob after things are adjusted because it was heavily farmed.

So mages are actually starting to behave like mages. I like this direction! First time I've had a real fight in ages.

Oh god, 3 Kobold Mages in Elysium Mines... They have lightning... oh god the stun. I think I sat there for a good 5 seconds while they deep fried my ass.

The rise was always supposed to be group content. If they up the loot drop rate then its gonna be more of a mmo

Yeah, fighting mages mow is a lot harder but the changes to buff duration helps offset that. I like the changes a lot.

I am seeing this issues in many posts about the mages. Myself as a mage I do not see these issues. what it tells me though is that if its too hard best find a new area until you get stronger or change tactics for mages. Dot's are a good thing to have against mages that and conserving mana is now very important as mobs will call on friends more frequently especially mages when they teleport and come back with more buddies. Pots are going to be a key element now for survival of harder fights. Isle of Xee sells lots of pots ;)

High level mages, like in the Rise are out of control!
I like the new mechanics, but the Rise ones are a bit excessive.

Also, there is a bug where they are teleporting in and out of the hallways. When a mage gets down on health then 'poof' they disappear... And you have no idea where they went.

    Guys please...

We finally got mage mobs that do more then cast fireballs. I was hit with ice field, healing, root, blink, ice bolt and fireball by the ones I kill last night and I friggen love it. Yes, it makes it harder and more variable to do mindless farming but we have been asking for these changes for years. There are many other places in the game you can farm Rise level mobs even a lot easier (not grouped so close). The Rise seems like it was designed to be more group orientated.

Great work dev's, thank you for this first step in mob diversity.

I agree the mages are great! :) They even cast on each other, which is totally cool.

Just the ones in the Rise need to be tuned up a little is all. Go in there and you'll see what I mean. Take a group ;)

    Overall great job!

Yeah, it's like Baldur's Gate, expect that those mages dropped actually loot and didn't spawn from thin air.
