Please forgive me if I should already know the answer to this. Do we know how much the house tax will be and when it should be paid? I haven't played the game yet but when the game goes live I have a village plot and a house. When I place it how long will I have before I have to pay tax on it?
It is not known yet what the final tax amount will be, but for a taxable village lot it is currently 200 gold per day. Upon initially claiming a lot, you receive 14 days worth of already paid taxes.
Also be aware that the tax rate is likely to be adjusted... up or down, probably both over the course of the next few months, and likely in both directions. Additionally, come Release 32, what we now call 'gold' will become 'copper' and silver and (new) gold currencies will be multiples (either 10x or 100x) of the current coins. I.E. What we now call gold will become Pennies, with silver either being a Dime or a Dollar, and gold becoming either a Dollar or 10 Dollars if you equate the new coins to US Currency. This is stated for demonstrative purposes only, and not meant to imply any game economy to real world value equivalence. (Slightly disturbed that I feel moved to make so thorough a disclaimer on a simple example.)
I guess that a causal player will afford a row lot, a normal player a village lot and a ''no-life'' player a town lot. A small guild should afford a town lot and a large a city lot.
Ok thanks for the replies. Will the rent be taken automatically from my bank account or do I need to do something in order to pay the rent? Does the paying of the rent mean that my house will always be there or is it also a requirement that I log in with a certain frequency? Thanks in advance.
I believe you can pay rent from the menu that is brought up with the "U" key. You can do this from anywhere in game. I believe it will be necessary to log in to pay rent, so you'll need to log in however often is required to do that, but yes, as long as your rent remains paid, the lot should remain yours.
Not sure if this takes place during R32 or not. But it's my understanding that it will eventually take place at some point.
