I can't seem to find where to look into joining a guild.

Do they have guild masters in town? I didn't see a key combo to open a guild window or anything.

Here is the forum section where guilds recruit. My usual recommendation is to play with people using the group finder (alt+F by default) and then if you enjoy those people, ask them to join their guild. Forum posts are nice and all but chemistry with the people might actually work out better.

 

Remembering you was asking some questions about offline mode I guess you are talking about NPC guilds like a “Thieve guild”, right? There are no such NPC guilds…at least currently.
I do not think the current guildmasters are in offline mode as they just offer the possibility to create new guilds avatars could join. They are often in the first floor of the local bank.

If you are searching the guilds avatars have created in the online mode try F and take a look if there is a guild tab available. If there is no you should instead take a look at e.g. this thread.
