Ignite Weapon: Target not in line of sight

Scrolling through my chat log I found this line:

Wintermute Ofcof tried to use Ignite Weapon, but failed: Target not in line of sight.​

I'm assuming this is referring to the tick damage as there are some successful "Wintermute Ofcof attacks Bear Patriarch and hits, dealing 3 points of damage from Ignite Weapon" in the same section of the log file. I question the logic that, after I've set a bear on fire with my sword, it's only on fire when I'm looking at it.

 

@Wintermute of CoF I was unable to reproduce this internally. Are you still seeing this when you cast Ignite Weapon?

 

I'll try to check tonight, though I'm away from home for ten days after that.

 

I see this often in my chat logs, often enough to observe that it is when the mob is close enough to be partly behind me, even when it approached from within my arc of fire.

This is also happening with Poison Weapon Proc.
