Immolation

Every time that I'm in combat and try to cast it, the bar loads as I prepare the spell and then it cancels as my auto-attack kicks in. The only time I can get it to work is being far enough away from an opponent where auto-attack does not engage thereby cancelling the spell. Is it supposed to work like this?

 

Probably not, but you can work around the problem by targeting yourself with f1.

 

I haven't tested this but is doesn't surprise me as there was a similar issue with casting fireball (was fixed). Immolation takes too long to cast imo which is why I never use it.

Agreed, I never use it anymore, but when it does cast boy is it beautiful!

 

Oh yes... Immolation, fire ring and then a fireball on top of it all? *grins wickedly*

 

But, back on topic, yes... I have noticed this happen many, many times, especially when you would normally perform the auto-attack. I have made it work by clicking the ground when the timer is about to complete, deselecting any opponents before the spell goes off.
