In-Game radio - adding more stations? List?

Any idea of where do find a list of other stations you can add that will work with this feature?

(Would love if I could add Sirius XM ...)

 

I still have the station managers permission to pipe all the rock at WCCC out of Hartford Ct the old home of Howard Sterns, they had a back end no add url loop of all the music I would have to check and see if its still up and in use..
Here are some sites that has urls to music streams. Most are user created and some come and go but there are quite a few that have been up for yrs. They have been used for a long time like 8+ yrs I know of in most VWs

Thats just a couple sites that have pipes in url listings, also you can pull urls from Shoutcast.com or any streaming music site.

These stations are not owned by any platform they are user created and free to use.

Also contacting a radio station and asking permission to pipe a station url if they have one, into a platform that has alot of listeners they are usually more than happy for the added free exposure 8 }

Pretty Much any radio that broadcast via the internet could potentially be added so long as you know or can find their info.

Seems like none of these are currently working. Anything going on with adding new stations? Also... the two default stations have been quiet the past week?

 

Dunno what might be blocking you. I just checked BOTH and they seem to be working fine.

Alright... I might have some setting in a local firewall that's keeping this from functioning properly then.

 

I can listen to IR stations via the web browser, just not directly following any of the above links nor through the SotA client.

I'm not seeing anything that's blocking anything, my router is protecting the network, but not actively blocking things from inside heading out.

 

Maybe it is a security product with a local firewall (besides OS level) or similar that you have installed that is restricting what port(s) the game .exe is allowed to communicate on or similar?

 

Yeah... I only run the basic Windows 10 Defender stuff and Avast, free edition, which doesn't do any of that. I have some more research to do on this.

Seems its not a open system in game .. Station plug ins have to be approved. No idea why but oh well ...

 

When you start up a stay in one place Aether Device, it's supposed to be heard by everyone in the immediate vicinity.

Approving stations could be a stop gap to avoid explicit content from being streamed through the game client to everyone within "ear shot".

 

not automatically. everyone in the vicinity can choose to double click it. they can also choose any station on the list, even if it's not the one you have in mind.

 

When the Shooter Jennings event happened recently, AR had to give out an alternate URL since their main stream was crushed under the load. It's still in the list on my client.

They're just standard audio streaming URLs, there is no "approval" needed beyond being put in the default list. If you can't get them to work, especially the two default ones, there's probably a firewall blocking you.

Indeed. Nobody else hears what you are listening to. The sound all comes through your client only when you select a station. Everyone has to click on it themselves. If you add a URL to your local copy of the list, it appears in the list whether on a portable or fixed radio.

Most of the music urls are run by gamers with shoutcast or icecast or other prog. some are up 24/7 some come and go ect and a lot more are added .. A search for music urls will give you a updated list and it really is easy to run your own if your into music.
I would think the best route for music would be having it not overlap others areas. with the properties sectioned off so one can not place on others property its easy to have music be one of them.
Censorship of music (adult or offensive content ) is a personal responsibility so I think the ( has to be approved) has more to do with the control of PR than anything else but hey you can always pop it into a browser and run it in the background.
