Increased focus costs for skills over 100 should be removed from the game.

The increased amount of focus it costs to cast a skill does not scale with it's increased damage.

There is no way to increase your focus regen beyond a certain point.

Not to mention you can't even see what the focus cost is going to be before leveling it.

It works like that by design where players at some point will need to make a determination on whether if it's worth to gain tiny extra edge for millions of XP or put it on other skills instead.

Normally, players will see significant improvement from 0 - 80, then the boost becomes less and less after that.

Good luck convincing them of that.

That's not what I'm talking about.

Level 100 Chain Lightning costs say 28 focus to cast

Level 120 Chain Lightning costs 45 focus to cast

That is a HUGE difference in focus costs vs a tiny improvement in DPS

There is nothing to justify such a massive focus increase.

I took Rapid Fire from 100 to 105 and it now takes an extra 2 focus to use. I figured that was a good trade-off for getting an extra arrow.

That's what I'm getting at. The higher your skill is, the more focus it will consume while at the same time the increase rate of effectiveness become less and less linear until it's barely worth putting more XP into the skill. I leave most of my spells to level 80 solely because of that.

That is the point. If the focus is going to increase the damage should increase enough to offset it.

In the Rapid Fire example at least you are getting some decent DPS for that 2 focus.

In the case of Chain Lightning and many other skills, you are getting like 5 damage at the cost of 10 focus.

There is already a huge limiting factor in the XP it costs. At high levels it's going to costs you 100's of millions of XP for tiny improvement.

Don't need to make spells weaker overall by decreasing the amount of damage you get per point of focus on top of that.

If you specialize in the Focus tree you gain a very large amount of focus regain. You also gain focus for every adventure level you go up so when you get high it scales pretty well. The only time it doesnt scale is if you dump all you exp into a few skills and don't level the focus reduction skills as well.

I should point out that the actual skill level needed to get 9 shots from Rapid Fire is 125. I achieved that through a combination of 80 Ranged Specialization and 105 Rapid Fire. This is the bonus you get for Specialization.
