details: if you command your pet to attack it totally ignores you

have a tamed pet of your choice
agro some animal
say pet attack and
watch as it sits looking at you like a fool

 

This also happens with elementals. (probably no surprise).

 

if I command for a 2nd time it will attack, never for the 1st time

 

We are not seeing this issue internally. Summoned pets were responding immediately to commands to attack. Will need more details/specifics to reproduce consistently.

Perhaps I can help. I noticed this also with my tamed pets.

If you command your pet with rightclick on the enemy statusbar or the enemy direct and choose Command pet to attack, then you need to do this two times. The first time is always ignored. Pet is in defense mode.

@Attenwood with patch 547 this isnt happening any more, at least, the small tests I did showed its not happening like it was... eg, it didnt happen in the few kills I tried

 

just tested in 548, still not getting my fire elemental to attack. What additional information would be helpful?

just tested it in 549. Vauban Pass with my Obsidian Bear. I have to rightcklick and command to attack twice to get my pet to attack.

I have found previously that there were occasional times when I know I clicked "go get it" and it hadnt, but I always assumed I kinda issued the command at the wromg time, but either we are all getting much better at finding that wrong time, or it is some element of timing bug thing that is hard to reproduce if you dont have the nack my suggestion is


I start with a pet that is tamed and on defensive..

1. be close enough to a mob to engage it but not agro (a fine line I know)
2. right click on mob send in pet
3. note pet stands there like a gimp
4. right click on mob to send in pet and it will go have a go

If you wish to watch me, or borrow my body, or something - you are very welcome

 

Same issue here. I must right click mob and select attack twice before my pet will attack.

 

With latest build yesterday evening CET (#549 or #550, not sure) it did work for me several times (1st click did send the pet to attack)

 

@StarLord Hmm, I have seen it work in some zones, but for example, even pressing the key to send pet in, rather than right click Ive occasionally almost had to spam it before he will wade in.

 

with #553 the pet ususally does NOT attack for the 1st time (Twin Foothills, Serpent Spine)

 

I remapped the pet attack key to ` and have found more often than not the pet does attack, its the right click menu which is messing up
