[Info needed] Stealth Skill Doesn't Work

4. Details:Was working normally then it just stopped after getting killed by Ghost Corpion in Borreas Colossus.
5. Steps to Reproduce: Kept trying to activate it and it just never worked.
6. User Specs: HAL-9000

 

Did you have light on or any other buffs or debuffs? Did rezoning fix this perhaps?

 

I did have Celestial Blessing, Str of Earth and Shield of Crystal. Can you no longer sneak with these buffs this release? Thank you @Lexie


*EDIT* Or it could be because of this, I just saw it on the known issues:

1. [NEW] Attempting to use stealth skills in the vicinity of undead corpses may prevent the spell from working.

 

I was looting those and I was also not able to use Silent Movement in that area.

You also cannot have a light spell or night vision on when using it either.

 

I have confirmed that Light spell prevents you from using Silent Movement which makes sense since a glowing orb above your head makes it hard to be stealthy. However, I just tested and the Silent Movement skill can be used while the Night Vision spell is active.

 

Some areas pretty much outright prevents you from having stealth (either Camouflage or Silent Movement) regardless whenever or not you have any clothing that glow or have any buffs on. The issue is a scene-by-scene case.

If you find yourself unable to stealth, go to another location/scene/zone and (assuming you found a proper scene) stealth should work properly.

I've reported it as a bug a few times already; not sure if the devs are aware of the issue.

Night Vision is designed to work with Stealth.

 

If that includes pledge gear that emits light that is also another good thing to know.

Yeah, I never had an issue making Stealth work in conjunction with Night Sight.

As for pledge gear, I couldn't really tell you as I'm not wearing any. All I do know is that some areas will just prevent you from entering stealth even if you have nothing that glows on you. Day time, night time, it doesn't matter.
