Internet routing Issues affecting access to the SotA Website and Forums

If you are reading this, then the routing issue either is not impacting you, or the adjustment we made has corrected your connection.

What's all this then?:

Around 2:30PM CT on February 13th, some players reported not being able to access the Shroud of the Avatar website or Forums. We investigated and found that the issue is somewhere in the internet backbone.

It appears the issue is affecting people in the US, mainly in areas central and west. The East coast appears to not be affected.

We did find that other major entities on the net also experienced this issue when we did. This image is a sampling:



Once we determined the issue was outside of our infrastructure, we took steps to re-route as much traffic away from the issue as possible. The backbone ISP affected will need to correct the issue before we can route traffic through the primary connection.

This issue affects the Website, Forums and will cause a delay in authentication for game play. At this time we have not gotten any reports of player not being able to play the game.

Please note that since the authentication service is falling back to a secondary, the EULA will be prompted. There have been no changes to the EULA or TOS.

We will monitor the status and re-route things back when the issue has been resolved.
