Just a suggestion but how about the ability to jump off of the starting floating island into space, just for s's and g's. Just let fall and when it times out start over again lol.
It's a decent sized island. You chat, answer a few questions then go on a 5 mile trek to the moongate. Would be cool to at least have other things to find, explore etc. And I agree, if it looks like you can interact with it you should be able to. If I don't see a wall stopping me, I should be able to fly off into the void. What happens next, I don't know. I'd like to try and mine some of the other rocks though. And, because we start in space, we should get the title astronaut and have our own mission patch. Oh, and have a timer where if we don't get off the island fast enough we do the Arnold in Total Recall where our eyes bulge out and start convulsing.
There should also be a dark cave hiding an evil version of yourself, who you have to face before your Jedi uh AVATAR training is complete no? Optional of course. Just tossing around ideas here lol.
That's how it was originally. I think jumping is a valid choice. It's lore friendly too, as you spend the rest of the game orbiting the planet and when you finally fall down to it, you're one of the shooting stars we see in the sky now. And yeah, I'm hoping there's some Easter eggs for those that take the time to explore. There's supposed to be three in every scene...
I would like the whole island path populated on the side with a collection of all the monsters/characters in game. They would not attack, but it would instill some apprehension and expectations of things to come in the new adventurer.
~Possibly~ Maybe strand them on some loose small floating land masses on the scenic look out where the planets are all best viewed from? ~Time Lord~
