Details:
Auto Attack with Bow is still Auto Attacking enemies even when 1) You don't manually target any enemy and 2) They don't aggro against the player:
Auto Attack with Bow starts Auto Attacking mobs which are having aggro against another mob.

In Highvale, when you as Archer encounter an Elven Archer attacking a Human Archer and you move closer, your Auto Attack starts Auto Attacking the Elven Archer. Also in Highvale, when you as Archer encounter an Elven Mage attacking a Grey Wolf and you move closer: your Auto Attack starts Auto Attacking the Elven Mage.

Steps to Reproduce (Build 546):
1) Equip a bow
2) Enter Highvale from the Overland Map
3) Find two mobs fighting against each others not so far away from the entrance
(For example, Elven Mage vs Grey Wolf or Elven Archer vs Human Archer)
4) Start keeping looking at the direction of the two mobs
5) Get closer to the two mobs while they are fighting against each others
6) Press Z to enter Combat Mode
7) Press T to Enable Auto-Attack, if Auto-Attack isn't enabled
8) Get more closer to the two mobs, if you still were not in the bow range
