Description: There are no NPC nameplates displaying.
    Reproduction rate: 100%
    Blocker: No
Details: I was in a random encounter and then when to a siege. The nameplates aren't displaying for any of the rabbits, wolves, skeletons, Ebon Cultists, Lucky Gilbert etc. There is no setting in options to toggle these nameplates.

If you haven't asked Lucky what his name is yet and you don't have 'show unlearned NPC names' checked that would be by design.
I am seeing nameplates for things like rabbits and others, so I'm wondering if this is fixed for you in the 503 build? If you are still seeing this, let me know which scene it is as I don't think it is everywhere. Thank you.

@Lexie this is still happening in Build 503. I even have the *Show Unlearned NPC Names* checked in the Interface options. No NPCs are displaying a name.

It turns out the NPC names only show if I activate *Show Player Nameplate*. This applies to Ebon Cultists and all other NPCs including wildlife and watchers.

    With player nameplate:

Interesting. I was not able to repro, although you could. I wonder if there is another factor in the mix.
I'm creating a bug for this. Any chance you can upload some screenshots of what 'interface' options are all set at?

Thank you so much for doing that. BUG: 46083 created.
Just curious, does hitting N toggle them on? And keep them on?

@Lexie I did some testing and I think this is a false alarm. I think I had a senior moment. :-(

Here are the testing steps I took:

    1. Have *Show Player Nameplate* checked in the options.
    2. Use the N key to deactivate the player nameplate. It deactivates all names, including NPCs.
    3. Uncheck the player nameplate option. It leaves NPC names alone and removes the player nameplate.
    4. Press N - it deactivates the NPC nameplates.

In the Controls keybinds, toggle nameplates is bound to N. There is no separate keybind for player nameplate. Not sure why I thought there was, but there isn't.

The bottom line is that the only way to deactivate the player nameplate without affecting the NPC nameplates is from the Interface Options. I went back to R41, looked over all my settings and did tests there as well.

I am so sorry, but this looks like a huge false alarm! So embarrassing :-(
