[Known] combat highlighting disappears if too close to environment object

    Title: combat highlighting disappears if too close to environment object
    Reproduction Rate:100%

    Details: The red outline around an enemy targeted in combat is removed if you get too close to an object, like a tree, boulder, pillar, etc.
    Steps to Reproduce:Target an enemy such as the troll, and get very close to an object

    on my display it fades out some but is stil clearly visible. i like the effect, actually, make sit not overwhelming when it's a large part of the screen. what's your reticle strength slid to?

    I didn't know reticle strength controlled this feature - it should probably be renamed then - or better yet, another slider added for this feature. Mine is at the default. I'll try and take a video to show what I'm seeing..

    OK - I traced this down better to being too close to an object in the game - see video (also linked above).

    On further observation of the video (not actively playing the game) - I see the target "lock" icon is going away next to the mob's name when this happens .. which I guess is indicating the mob is unable to be hit?

    Perhaps this is an intended effect - since after reading DS's post, this combat targeting also indicates the enemy is "in range" - but the behavior seems to be not range but "damageable and not in cover" ?
