    Other one is % addition and the other is straight out addition, like fire resist on equipment. So mayby it gives both. Flat and % increase.

    Now, question is... does it actually work! ;)

    As far as I could tell yesterday in serpent spine mine, yes both douse and ice shield DO reduce fire damage, Warding gems and fireproof do not appear to.

    source standing in a fire trap, get hit for 10 damage on, hit douse get hit for 7 hit ice shield get hit for 6 step off let buffs and DOT end
    add warding gem ( my fireproof is over 80 meaning my base is 25% or so, 10 seems too round to be the result of a partial resist) step back on plate, get hit for 10.
