In past releases - the fishing target circle was on the surface of the water.

Currently - the fishing target circle seem to travel on the bottom of the body of water.

This means that in deep water, the fishing target circle becomes very small and completely disappears only a short distance away from the avatar - making it impossible to fish certain fishing hotspots.

Expected behavior - size of fishing target circle should remain on the surface of the water, and should remain the same size.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Stand next to deeper water
2) Employ fishing skill, and pan mouse towards deeper water
3) Observe that the fishing target circle becomes smaller as it travels into deeper water, and disappears entirely in deep water.

When fishing from my rustic 3 story village water house, the target doesn't show on the water.
It'll show on the wall just fine (in red of course) but if you click on the water where the target should
be ... you can still fish.

 

Happens also on Mac client (the fishing target os only visible on a peer - in red. You can fish if you move away to a green position.

 

Yes, same bug for me... I often cannot see the fishing circle at all in most bodies of water.
