Details: I have gotten the dagger, spoken to the old man, he has given me the gate key and tells me to go to Aerie. He says I am free to go any time I am ready and has given me the key. I have the key in my inventory, when I try to leave it says "This gate is locked, used the correct key on this gate to open the gate."
Steps to Reproduce: Started as a Mage from the Oracle.

@zuccuss, are you clicking the gate itself? there's a lockbox in your screenshot to the right.

 

@zuccuss You need to double click on the Key Hole and not on the gate.
The on-screen hint is already saying: "Use the correct key on this lock to open the gate."

All key holes are just blurry low-resolution placeholder images causing players not to try to interact with them.

 

Ahh, I did not see that. Coming from point and click games seems to have diminished my ability of observation. My apologies, after clicking the lock everything works perfect. I shall work on honing my observation skills as well.

There is an existing ticket to fix hints in tutorial scenes to refer to using the lock on the gate rather than the deprecated instruction to simply click on the gate.
