Playing Ulfheim is impossible due to the lag in response. Overland has also become laggy.
So is movement in Northwood POT.
    Loading time has increased.
The flashing white loading screen has come back also.

Please post your system specs for us to followup on this performance issue. Also please include /loc location coordinates at areas where performance seems worse. This is not an issue we're observing upon internal testing.

Getting back to base, Dragomir Mori, via Etceter was very "swimmy". so lag is consistent not just in Ulfheim. Loading in each zone took much longer than usual.
I have the video setting on fastest and checked it still is and the only box ticked is "Cull interior decorations".

Logged back in to find lag still as bad. Ran round Dragomir Mori and through siege which took some seconds to populate. Overland just as bad then in to level three zone South long fall road, daren't go anywhere dangerous. Movement entirely inaccurate due to about 1/2 second disparity between moving mouse/ pressing key / clicking glyph and action on screen. Early night for me ;-)

Logged in around 5 am, updated to 695, no noticeable difference to above. Ran round Dragomir Mori bumping in to things due to slow steering performance, key presses being missed. Over land curser seamed to be more laggy. South Longfall Road just as bad. Back to bed I think ;-)

This game runs better on my tablet at work than my home pc now. I use a Ryzen 1700, 16gb of ram, rx580 8gb. Not sure what is going on but the program closes just walking around owls head or even crafting 6 ingots.

I'm having trouble even loading into owls head - drops to 3fps then I get a disconnect. Happened 3 of 4 loads into owls head before I finally didn't get the DC.

Logged in to check progress and laggy door pushed me in to the wall. Had to reload to get out. No change but then I guess you have to sleep to ;-)

The issues either causes a disconnection or the program ends up being closed / stops responding. I will test again tonight.

I cannot go anywhere from the world map. No zones, no teleporting. Can not even switch to Friends only. Just installed latest patch and problem started

What is the best way to measure FPS in SOTA? I was able to get around on patch 697.
I was able to travel the overland map, visit the Whiteguard mines. I was able to get around owls head as well as
Kingsroad. However, it was still seeing some drops in fps. There have been no more drops / disconnects or random
    apps closing.

Just wanted to chime in that I'm also having terrible performance this release. Definitely, and very clearly, regressed from last release.

I have a Intel quad 3570k usually running at 3.6GHz, GTX 1080Ti, 32gb ram, and an SSD. Monitor is 2560x1600 60Hz.

In areas where I'm getting single-digit FPS, my GPU utilization is in the teens or lower. Last release it was much, much higher than that. When I switch to "Fastest" rendering, my FPS jumps significantly to 20-30 FPS, so it's clearly bottlenecking on the GPU -- but, problem is, it's not properly using the GPU fully.

Ironically, the only time my GPU utilization goes above 30% is during loading screens.

For the above, I'm just walking through towns. No actual fighting.

EDIT: For example, I just consistently had 9 FPS staring at banker near default gate in Brittany Fields.

I gave up getting into Owl's Head from the default entrance. Choose West entrance and you will get in regularly.

I type /debug in the chat window and get the fps displayed that way at the top of the screen
