[Known] Light spell nullifcation zone in the Spectral Mines

This is completely separate from the timer issue with the light spell. Instead, it deals with certain areas of the Spectral Mine where your "light" ball just completely disappears while you are in them. If you walk out of those areas, the light spell returns. You can do this infinitely walking in and out of those areas. Here is an example of one such area, with coordinates in the screenshots:

 

This also happens in the Twins Foothills.

 

Appears fixed in 623 for the Spectral Mines at least.

 

Never mind just started happening to me again. So it doesn't always happen, but does sometimes.

 

Ah, if I cast the light spell while in the nullification zone, it stops happening while I remain in that instance.

I'm looking for a trend here as this doesn't seem scene specific. Is there a certain trend or pattern you are seeing once you find these 'no light' areas? Is it perhaps in the corners, against certain objects, walls, or terrain?

 

Unfortunately, no. It's just like there's a line down the middle of the room in the above, and it just doesn't work in that section. There are at least 2 areas in that portion of the Spectral Mines that behave in this way. If there is something different about them, it's likely not visible to players, unfortunately. :/

I only saw it the one time.

 

Just walk towards Deep Ravenswood on the overland with light spell active. The light will go out as you approach the scene entrance.

 

@Mishikal if you are still seeing this in the mines, when the ball goes into the wall - please provide the coords for us as we cannot repro. Thanks!
For the other folks, other light issues with it going out would be an entirely different issue. This one is about the ball hiding in the wall and becoming useless while mining.

This has nothing to do with the light going into the wall while mining. This has to do with you literally cross over a specific line in the Spectral Mines, and your light just disappears. You can be way out in the open. I will let you know if I can still reproduce this in QA. It's certainly still happening on the R43 servers.

 

To be clear, I just *happened* to be mining in the first screenshot. The overall issue is that in literally half that room, the light spell disappears. If you cast your light spell again, while in that section, then it'll stay around anywhere else in the mine. Otherwise, there are a few different locations where the same behavior occurs.

 

@Lexie In my testing so far on build 629, this appears fixed.
