Title: Pressing ESC from placement interface does not remove non-fitting piece
    Reproduction Rate: easy
    Blocker? no
Details: When placing a room, when the room does not fit, the "Accept" button is disabled. If you press the "Cancel" button, it goes away. However, if you press the ESC key, the room placement interface exits without removing the bad room. This can lead to overlapping rooms, and entrapment via one-way walls. Also, although the room is placed in the scene, it is never removed from inventory or saved in the dungeon layout.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    - start with just the basic foyer
    - from the foyer, add an X
    - from the left side of the X, select a Stone Dungeon Room (Random Encounter 1)
    - note that the Accept button is not highlighted because it intersects the foyer
    - press the ESC key (not the cancel button!)
    - room will be left in place
    - from the middle exit of the X, select a Stone Dungeon Room (Random Encounter 2)
    - press ESC
    - go inside and you will see a half visible wall (because of one-way textures) where they intersect
    - go through the wall
    - you are now trapped in a room with no exits and a Z-fighting floor
    - also note that the rooms are still in your inventory
    - you can stack multiple ghost rooms in the same space like this, and it is easy to get yourself trapped if you enter, it doesn't matter if the rooms fit or not, only that you use the ESC key
It's a good thing we can use Start on World Map!

Verified. It doesn't take away dungeon components from your inventory when you press the escape key. Nor does it give you extra dungeon pieces if you edit them and set the segment to "None".
If you set down several pieces in this way (for example, set down 3-4 straight pieces on an encounter room doorway), then try to remove the encounter room (that was legitimately placed), the system won't allow you to pick the encounter room up.
Also, if you place down several pieces this way (ESC method) then exit the scene and come back, those pieces wrongfully placed will not be there.

Thanks for the report! This will be fixed in an upcoming patch.
