    1. Title:Quest Item Turn-in Filter Inconsistency
    2. Reproducible? Not intentionally?
    3. Blocker? No just annoying
    4. Details:

This relates to quest turn-ins which require you to provide a certain item or item(s) to an npc and I am referring to the "trade" dialog box that opens. In most cases particularly with the new daily quests, when the dialog box opens, the list of items on the left panel is already filtered to show what the NPC is looking for. For example, when speaking to Eria who wants a Nibbled Bone, when you open the window, the bone is the only thing showing up in the left panel and you don't have to hunt for it, just drag it across.

However, for other quests (specifically, Troll Toenails in Tenebris Harbor, Love Letters in Necropolis Barrens) this is not the case, and while the window looks identical and tells you what you need to provide at the top, the "automatic filter" does not work, and you must manually filter or scroll to locate the items. It seems to be the case on the quests that have been around longer while newer quests seem to work 100% of the time. (Although the Castle Atos Ingredients and the Rabbit Foot with the kids ...I always have to manually filter for whatever reason).

I've recently compiled a spreadsheet of the xp/gold/arti rewards for all the dailies and this was driving me nuts.

However, there's oddball ones that go back and forth! Specifically, the Storage Containers. Yesterday, I go up with my animal hides to the animal hide box, and it auto filters and I can simply click the animal hide stack and drag them over, easy peasy. Today, I go up to the same box with the same hides and its not filtering when the box opens. It doesn't mix and match (since you turn this in 4 times) if it doesn't filter the 1st time, it will never do it, and if it does do it the first time, it does it for all 4 turnins. But it seems to be tempermental and only do it "sometimes." I've tried it simultaneously with two different characters turning in the same item to the same box and one filters and one does not. I've tried to figure out what could be causing it, like, shall I try it with my inventory open? With my inventory closed? With the items already in stacks of 15, or with them at one full stack of 60 prepared to turnin 15 four times ...and there seems to be no rhyme/reason/pattern that I've been able to determine.

Doing all the daily quests is a pretty big time sink, but particularly if you have to hunt/filter/type especially on quests that turn in groups of things (like ingredients etc). If you're like me and are carrying half your wardrobe, a menagerie of pets, plus whatever random loot you've picked up (and doing these quests will clutter up your inventory FAST) this gets quite tedious. While its certainly not a blocker, the fact that it works sometimes on some quests tells me that clearly a solution is in place it is just tempermental.

    5. Steps to Reproduce: Turn in quests. Sometimes it filters, sometimes it does not filter. Rage as appropriate.

    Excellent.
Let me know if it would be useful when I do my "rounds" tomorrow to let you know which ones do what or if there's other information that would help track this down. Its melting my brain!

@kaeshiva and devs if this has not been suggested before - I do storehouse containers and coffee seed runs daily during double XP and it seems like the first quest giver I go to will filter the item list as expected, then the one I visit after that will not filter my items... i.e. both quests can and do filter the list but only if I haven't already done another one during the same login.

To complicate that a bit, if I do a storehouse in one town, then visit Mendo, then go to a different storehouse, both of the storehouses will apply the filter although Mendo in the middle does not.

I don't know how widespread this is as there are otherwise very few quests I do, and I often don't pay that much attention to the details... but the above pattern exposed itself through sheer repetition.

I've recorded videos and stepped through them. It looks like the turn in entity is initially filled in with the previous turn in entity's wanted items. That clears extremely quickly-- hence the videos-- and the filter window is cleared.

Example below for the now archived bug report I made. Not much hope for that one.

This morning I included a quick diversion to the LB Castle invasion where I was lucky enough to grab a couple of keys, so I could confirm the following sequence:
    1. Visit storehouse containers in Kingsport and Mud, filter was applied for all of them
    2. Visit LB castle, turn in one key, filter was not applied
    3. Log out, wait for 20 second timeout, log back in (still in LB castle)
    4. Turn in the other key, filter was applied
    5. Visit Outlaw's run, get coffee seeds to turn in, filter was not applied

    Reproduction Rate: 99%
    Blocker?--
    Details / Steps to Reproduce:
After receiving the Bag of Runestone in Spindelskog and talking to Elder Bodil in Tanglemire, the window pops up. Now the needed item should be filtered automatically so the transaction can be confirmed.
Unfortunately it is not filtered automatically, like it is with other items.
A very few times it worked - can't tell why.

this is not specific to elder bodil. it's a known issue game-wide. quest items filters are sometimes inconsistent.
